Great Banyan Media was founded in 2015 to facilitate and grow Abbey’s versatile client work. Abbey’s responsibilities included video production, website creation and management, graphic and print design, event and fundraiser management, donor management, marketing and email campaigns, branding, and overall content management.
Inspired by the giant work of nature just outside of Kolkata, India, Great Banyan Media resembles boundless growth and new opportunity. As the famous Great Banyan tree branches outward and requires more support, the branches simply grow roots toward the ground to withstand it’s weight. A single Banyan tree can easily resemble a multitude of trees. No one knows exactly where the Great Banyan tree first sprouted, as it’s branches and roots cover nearly a mile of terrain.

Manage and create all marketing content including print material ranging from 40+ page booklets to life-size banners, online newsletter publishing, email marketing to thousands, increasing email subscribers by 33% in 6 months, public relations, social media, content calendars, cinematograph hundreds of hours in rural Rwanda, write, direct, and edit 30+ promotional videos and documentaries, and establish the distribution routine for all media. Design website and manage content for hopehavenrwanda.org. Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to oversee marketing efforts, create advertising and lead fundraising strategies to sustain projects of $1 million, and organize campaigns and events.

Early freelance work primarily consisted of cinematography, video editing, video writing, fundraiser and event management, copywriting and graphic design. Freelance work began around 2009 and held a strong and wide base of clients that kept me busy.

Bachelors degree achieved in two years while working as a Marketing Manager, remaining active around the community, and participating as a leader in various organizations. BA received in Telecommunication and Film, concentrating in Documentary filmmaking, and a minor in International Studies.
